Rock, Cornwall
Fronted by one long sandy beach and renowned for being a water sports destination, it’s understandable why Rock has become so popular over the years.

Just across the Camel Estuary (a short ferry ride from Padstow) Rock has gained a reputation for being the go-to place for water-skiing, sailing and paddle boarding. If that’s not enough, you only have to take a short jaunt around the corner to Daymer bay which is perfect for kite surfing and wind surfing.
You will find all your local amenities with the village including an excellent butcher, deli and convenience shop, bakery and plenty of lifestyle and clothing stores for a spot of retail therapy. Choose from a selection of water fronted restaurants and cafés including Paul Ainsworth’s pub The Mariners serving up gastro pub grub with a view over the water. Whilst you are there don’t forget to sample Porthilly Oysters which are grown in the Camel Estuary.

Rock beach boasts a long, wide stretch of golden sand with a coast path tucked away in the dunes which leads you all the way to Polzeath and beyond. Dogs are happily welcome all year round, and the wide-open space is perfect for letting off steam. Just behind the beach you will find the world-famous St Enodoc Golf Club. Featuring immaculately kept greens and two challenging courses to choose from all with stunning sea views, it’s easy to see why this course has become so admired.
