Making The Magic Happen – Part 1

Introducing you to the incredible people behind the scenes here at Shore Stays – this month, we catch up with our incredibly talented interior stylist Jessica Forbes…

A smiling woman with blonde hair outdoors, surrounded by trees.

“Hi, my name is Jessica Forbes, and I am an Interior Stylist, stying all the lovely properties for Shore Stays photoshoots.

I create moments and stories for clients to engage in, picturing themselves having a relaxing drink on the decking overlooking breathtaking sea views or snuggling up on the sofa with a good book and a cuppa. Creating a mood is so important when selling a dream holiday.

I also help with interior styling. If a property needs a sprinkle of magic or the finishing touches to really make it stand out, I add a few key pieces of furniture, accessories, and soft furnishings to create something fabulous!

I have been working alongside Shore Stays for around three years now, and the latest property I have worked on for them was the wonderful Tregirls, where we renovated the whole house from top to bottom, creating a relaxed, calm, beachy vibe, perfect for families to chill out in.

An open book displaying a black branch illustration, three seashells rest on the pages.

I love everything about my job – from going out collecting the perfect props for each property, choosing fabulous foliage to bring everything to life and getting onto the shoot and creating all the little moments of happiness.

The best bit is looking through the lovely images that our photographer – Elliott White has taken when they arrive afterwards.

In my downtime, I love hanging out at the beach and catching up with friends, but mostly, I love shopping! Whenever we get the chance, my daughter and I love nothing more than hopping on the train to Exeter to shop till we drop!

When eating out, I really love The St Kew Farm Shop & Cafe for a massive avocado on toast. The food there is always beautifully presented, fresh and colourful, so every time it’s like a foodie photoshoot!

And finally, my favourite place in Cornwall is St Nectan’s Glen. I absolutely love it there. It’s a bit more polished now than when I first visited 15 years ago, but it is still very magical.”
